Weddings

Congratulations

“A wedding is one of life’s great moments, a time of solemn commitment as well as good wishes, feasting and joy. St John tells us how Jesus shared in such an occasion in Cana, and gave there a sign of new beginnings as he turned water into wine” An excerpt taken from the Marriage Service in Services and Prayers for the Church of England – Marriage

Choosing to marry in church underlines and makes your commitment to each other all the stronger. You will be starting off married life blessed by God supported by the good wishes and prayers of your family and friends.

Baptisms at St Peter’s

Photo used with permission

If you live in the Parish of St Peter Newton-le-Willows, have a close pastoral connection with this church, or regularly attend services here then please contact us about arranging a Baptism here at St Peter’s Church.
Baptism (sometimes referred to as christening) involves an ‘initiation’ and welcome into the world-wide church, represented by a local church with which you have a relationship.

To hold a Baptism at St Peter’s you must either:
● live in our parish
● have a close pastoral connection with St Peter’s or regularly attend services here.

If you do not live in the parish and do not have a pastoral connection, we suggest that you contact your local parish church, as it is important that the Baptism takes place in a church community that can nurture your faith and
welcome you to become part of its community.

Funerals at St Peter’s

Funeral Services are an important feature of our ministry, and we put time and care into the preparation of the service with others who are involved. Every one of these services is different, and they are tailor-made for each individual, to be an apt rite of passage during which the bereaved can rightly mourn and reflect upon their own mortality. It is also a time to celebrate and give thanks for your loved-one and commending them into the merciful arms of God, through whose son, Jesus, we have the hope of life beyond the grave. We will also offer pastoral support to those who are bereaved.
